How Do Backups Work on CloudHosting?

Automatic Nightly Backups: Protecting Your Data

Our system has implemented a mechanism for automatic nightly backups. Every night, backups of all your data are created and immediately uploaded to separate servers. These servers are additionally protected with passwords to enhance the security of your personal data.

While you, as a user, do not have direct access to these backups, we are always ready to assist you in case of data loss. Upon your request, we can restore any files, emails, or databases stored within the last 30 days.

Recommendations for Additional Backup

Despite the presence of automatic backups, we strongly recommend setting up additional independent backups of your data to cloud services. This will ensure even greater reliability and security of your data.

New Remote Storage Options

Now, in the backup manager, you can configure remote storage to create and store backups on external cloud platforms. The following options are available:

  • FTP(S)
  • Dropbox Backup
  • Google Drive Backup
  • Amazon S3 Backup
  • Microsoft OneDrive Backup
  • SFTP Backup
  • DigitalOcean Spaces Backup

How to Set Up Remote Storage in Plesk?

  1. Log in to the Plesk panel using your account credentials.
  2. Navigate to Your Domain > Backup and Restore.
  3. Select Configure Remote Storage.
  4. In the configuration window, choose the type of storage you want to use (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox, Amazon S3).
  5. Enter the credentials required to connect to the selected cloud platform.
  6. Configure the storage settings (number of copies, backup frequency, data volume).
  7. Save the settings. After this, all new backups will automatically be stored in the selected remote storage.

Important Warning

Please note that we do not recommend storing backups directly on the server, as this can significantly increase the amount of space occupied on your account. For greater efficiency, configure an external cloud platform for storing your backups.

By following these recommendations, you will ensure the highest level of protection for your data and avoid potential information loss.
